A peek at the Historic Homes for the Holidays tour, Part I

Last weekend was one of the best of my life. Nearly 1,300 people attended the Historic Homes for the Holidays tour, and the vibe was festive, positive, warm, and friendly! I couldn’t help but feel so much love for those who came.

Today I want to share a few of my favorite views from some of the tour homes, and I’ll post more tomorrow. The homeowners worked hard to make their homes beautiful, and I don’t think anyone on the tour was disappointed.

Built-ins in a 1938 house lined with wrapping paper for Christmas.

The homeowner had her children’s photos taken at age three; the studio then painted on top of the photos to create these beautiful portraits.

The scale of this fireplace is stunning.

A grand staircase with live garland and wallpaper—swoon!

Love this niche in the upstairs hallway.

An original—and fabulous—lavender bath. Even the basket-weave tile is lavender.

Arguably my favorite room in the entire tour. That fireplace is almost other-worldly.

Playhouse INSIDE the house—love this idea!

Stay tuned this week for more photos AND for the total amount of money we raised for Promise Ridge. Let’s just say I could not be happier with the result! •

      1. I could not get over those portraits when I was on the tour! Made me wish I could travel back in time and capture portraits of my little ones in that precious chubby knee phase of childhood. Each home was magical–truly one of the highlights of my Christmas season, so I’m delighted it was raging success and will be repeated!

  1. It was an amazing tour. I loved the portrait and spoke with the owner about them while in her home. It was fun to meet people who love old homes and there willing to share them with us. Thank you for doing so much work to put this together Rebecca!

  2. I just have to take a moment and tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed the tour! I told him it was the best Christmas present I’ve ever gotten! The homeowners were so gracious and so kind to allow us all to peek in their darling homes and to work so hard to be ready for this. Thank you for putting this together- it was such a joy to go to! P.S. I absolutely loooved your house!!
