The biggest news to ever hit this blog

Today is a big day for me. Today I’m announcing a passion project I’ve been dreaming about for years and working on for the last several months.

On December 7 and 8 I hope you’ll join me for the Historic Homes for the Holidays Tour in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

More than 10 owners of historic homes have agreed to open their doors and give us a peek at their houses decked out for the holidays. This is NOT a virtual tour. This is a real-life, take-off-your-shoes-and-walk-on-through kind of tour. I could not be more excited about the homes being featured, and mine will be part of the tour too.

We’ve got everything from quaint cottages to stately, sprawling Colonials, and each one is full of character and spirit. I am beyond grateful for these homeowners and humbled by their willingness to participate.

And here’s one of the best parts: All proceeds from ticket sales go to Promise Ridge, which provides temporary emergency housing for families and is located in a local historic mansion.

I’ll be ironing out final details in the next few weeks, but please mark your calendars now and tell all your friends! Doors will be open the evening of Dec. 7 and the afternoon of Dec. 8. Tickets will be available for purchase on this website (coming soon!), but you’ll be able to purchase them at a physical location the day of the tour too. I’ll also be sharing the lineup of homes in the future—you’re going to love them.

What’s more perfect that historic homes PLUS Christmastime PLUS support for a good cause? I can’t think of anything. So please say you’ll join me! I look forward to meeting you—I’ll be the one with the biggest smile on my face. •

    1. I truly believe we have a great lineup of amazing homes. I hand-selected them all and knocked on doors of strangers to get some of the most beautiful local houses on the tour. The homeowners were great and eager to participate, and they also liked the fact that ticket sales support Promise Ridge. Thanks so much for your comment! Please say hi when you stop by my house on the tour. 🙂

  3. Rebecca, we would call your 2018 project a stunning success. Thank you for not only putting your own beautiful home on the tour of homes for the holidays, but encouraging the other home owners on the tour to do the same for the benefit of those in need of a home while at Promise Ridge.
Have a blessed and merry Christmas.
