I had another post planned for today, but it felt absurd to talk about superficial, frivolous house stuff with what’s happening to families illegally coming into our country. I still have a lot to read and sift through, but I am sick about parents and children being separated at the border. This is one of those issues that ought to transcend politics because families should be preserved whenever possible.
I’m going to spend a good portion of the day researching what’s going on and why, but here are a few articles worth sharing:

One of my recurring nightmares is that I’ve lost one or more of my children. I’m frantic. Running in circles. Screaming. But there are mothers living this nightmare RIGHT NOW, and it’s just not right. It’s totally avoidable. And I can’t imagine the fear the children are facing.
I understand about obeying laws. I understand about protecting our border to protect our communities from gang members, drug dealers, and smuggled weapons. I understand some people will read this and assume it’s an attack on Trump. But it’s really not. It’s simply about right and wrong.
If you know more about this topic or want to sound off like I am, please feel free to comment. Like I said, this issue transcends politics, and I’m struggling to find a good justification for what’s happening. Two wrongs don’t make a right. •

Thank you, Rebecca, for talking about this heartbreaking situation,going on at our borders. You’re right, it should not be a political issue, but it’s being used as one, unfortunately. It’s a moral issue, and what’s going on is inhumane. All of our past First Ladies have come our vehemently against it. And, even if it ended today, there is no system in place to return all the hundreds and thousands of children to their parents! This is unacceptable. As a parent, and a Human being,I think that this is beyond cruel.
So, yes, please read about what’s going on-turn on a news channel and maybe attend a protest march. We as Americans cannot let this happen in our country.
