Because it’s estate-sale season, now’s the time to keep your eyes peeled for vintage ornaments. This is the best time of year to score a box of glass ornaments from as far back as the 1920s, though I’m sure you’ll find that those from the ’50s and ’60s are much more common.
A couple weeks ago I scored three complete boxes for $15 total—that’s a steal.
Over the years I’ve amassed quite a collection, and I will never tire of them. One of my favorite things is seeing how lovingly the ornaments have been stored for decades. Very often they are individually wrapped in tissue paper, and I like to imagine the original owners gently tucking them away every January.
